Yesterday I hung out with my nephew. I really wanted to take him to a carnival that just got setup in the neighborhood but unfortunately it was not open yet. So we did the next best thing. We went and saw a movie. ‘Men in Black II’ was the movie of choice. I thought it was pretty entertaining. Not for the storyline, plot, theme or anything like that. No just for the special effects and the goofball humor that permeates movies of this (low) caliber. Will Smith supplied the audience with plenty of his fearless Philly MIB agent wit. I give MIB II a 7.5 on a scale of 10 mostly for all of the cool aliens and high tech weaponry. I really liked the car!

After the movie we just kind of hung out at my place. I don’t have Nintendo, Sega or any of those fancy video games. Solitaire is about as exciting as it gets around here for gaming. So after putzing around here for a while we went over to my parents’ house and raided the refrigerator! They are gone for the weekend but there was plenty of food in the fridge! Poor kid has to go back to school next week. He goes to a private school that has a very different school year. Well, at least he won’t be complaining to me about how bored he is once he is back in school.

Last night was the absolute worst for trying to sleep around here. The weather was great. I didn’t even need a fan. I loved that part. Unfortunately it was very windy and some Goober across the alley didn’t secure one of their screen doors. Can I tell you that this door has been opening and slamming ALL NIGHT LONG!? At one point I thought about going across the alley to secure it but I didn’t think it would be a good idea for a black man to be entering someone else’s property at 1AM. That has Rodney King written all over it!

Speaking of police abuse I am incensed at the most recent incident that took place in Inglewood, California. The incident itself makes my stomach turn but what I find even worse are the people trying to defend the actions of the officer that assaulted the young man AFTER he was subdued and handcuffed. There is no justification for the officer’s actions. I don’t care which way you spin it. I think I’m going to write a nasty gram to the mayor’s office as soon as I find the address! I encourage everyone to do the same. If you are one of my fans that read this journal and already have the info please forward it to me at

Gang, as you (should) know by now I am trying to do my own thang with the start of my new IT consulting company called FASiT. Since the job market basically sucks I figured why the hell not start my own company. However I am in desperate need of customers! Uncle Pauly needs you to pass the word about FASiT! I also printed up a bunch of flyers that I will be posting in the neighborhood today. I’m probably going to scoop up my nephew so he can help also. He’s been whining about how bored he is at home from school so I figured I would put him to work. Nothing cures boredom better than work. Maybe I will have him wash my car too! Then my clothes need ironing… I’m beginning to think Kathy Lee Gifford had the right idea!
